Thirteen of our sailors competed in keelboat events this past weekend, October 6-7. Nine sailors went to the Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta (IOR) in Larchmont, NY, and four sailors traveled to Sheboygan to sail in the MCSA Match Race Qualifiers.
At IOR, our team sailed a Turbo Farr 40 against teams from schools across the country. The wind on Saturday was 10-12 knots, and the team won the first race of the regatta. On Sunday, the breeze started out 8-12 knots, then died throughout the day. The team finished strong by winning the final race of the day. Overall, they achieved third place in their class.
