Summary

Our sailors traveled to St. Mary’s College of Maryland to compete at the first women’s showcase event this season. The breeze on Saturday was a consistent 5-9 knot southerly allowing for many quality races. The team started off slow but quickly improved their finishes after the first set. The wind shut off just after A fleet finished their 10th race of the day. Sunday’s breeze was much lighter and more inconsistent. The day started off with a postponement on shore. Eventually the breeze evened out enough to get a few more races off for a total of 13 races in each division. Our team had a great showing finishing 5th out of 16 in A division! Overall, the team finished 12th. This was a great start to our women’s regattas this season!
