summary

The weekend started off on Friday with the MCSA Women’s Team Race hosted at home. After a brief weather delay due to thunderstorm, racing commenced. After a full day of racing, the Michigan Women won the title with a record of 7 wins and 2 losses. Along with the title, the Wolverines earned a spot at the ICSA Women’s Team Race National Championships hosted by Stanford on April 29-30.

Saturday brought even more poor weather for the Michigan regattas. The Women’s Fleet Race was only able to send A fleet out for two races, and racing was canceled for the day at Laker Showdown.

Sunday brought calmer weather, and both of the Michigan regattas were able to proceed with a full day of racing. At the Women’s Fleet Race, they were able to complete a total of six races. The Wolverine women placed 3rd. At Laker Showdown, they were able to complete eight races, and the Wolverines placed 1st!

On the East Coast, the Michigan Sailing Offshore Team was competing at the Coast Guard Academy. After one day of practice, and two days of racing, the Wolverines finished in 7th place.
